Calgary Herald – Vivo Vacation Homes & Investment Properties

Mexico Pacific Coast Ocean View Calling!

In her September 8th Calgary Herald article entitled, “Ocean View Calling From Deep in Mexico,” writer Barb Livingstone states that Canadians are buying into Vivo Resorts in Puerto Escondido on the Pacific Coast of southern Mexico as “both a vacation home and investment property.”

Located on the Emerald Coast in the state of Oaxaca, Vivo Resorts Oaxacan Beachfront Living is a luxurious gated community situated on the pristine sands of Palmarito Beach.

When completed, the up-scale 75-acre Vivo Resorts complex will feature Village Shoppes and Boutiques along with 600 luxury condos and 114 private villas on prime Mexico oceanfront property.

As of this writing, Canadians own 80% of the 110 completed condos and 10 completed private homes.

The luxury Mexico resort complex also features an infinity pool, a swim-up bar, and a 53,000 sq. foot Clubhouse.

Located at the centre of the resort, the Clubhouse includes an open-air restaurant, lounge, yoga studio, fitness centre and business centre. There’s also a general store plus shuttle bus service to Puerto Escondido, just 9 miles away.

Vivo Resorts As A Vacation Home

Vivo Resorts is also the perfect getaway for Cary Mullen, a former Olympian turned developer who conceived and built Vivo Resorts to be a community for every generation. “We’re not just building buildings, we’re building atmosphere,” says Mullen adding, “Where Vivo is already (at 30% completion), is better than the vision I started with.”’

The Laguna condo complex is nearing completion. There’s also the Nautico Residences, an all-beachfront complex with condo units starting at $319,99 US, and the Botanica, a low-rise garden style complex with condo units starting at $219,900 US. Recently, Vivo began offering in-house financing!

While some condo owners have chosen to live at Vivo Resorts year-round, most have found their dream vacation home, one that is also a great investment. Early buyers have already seen estimated returns of 5% to 8%.

Vivo Resorts As An Investment Property

The Calgary Herald also quoted Steve Nim, a California hotelier who is now a proud Vivo condo owner. Nim commented, “I wanted to fulfil a dream of living with an ocean view when I retired, and I couldn’t have afforded this in California.”

For many Vivo owners like Nim, the investment potential of Vivo Resorts is a bonus. Vivo offers select condo owners an expertly managed vacation rental program starting at $112 US a night. The rental program helps condo owners pay expenses and offset condo costs. Condo owners receive 70% of the net proceeds from the vacation rental program.

About Puerto Escondido!

Many consider Puerto Escondido Mexico to be the next Huatulco! The area is well known for it’s consistent year-round temperatures, warm Pacific coast waters, and extremely low hurricane risk.

Vivo has been actively promoting Puerto Escondido in an effort to convince airlines like Canada’s Westjet to offer direct flights from Canada to Puerto Escondido airport. At present, flights to Puerto Escondido are directed through Mexico City. There are some direct flights to Huatulco International Airport however, which is just an hour’s drive from Puerto Escondido.
