Oaxaca Loves Canadians
In her March 26, 2018 Issuu article for the Tropical Tidbits section of the Magazine, writer Sue C Travel (aka Sue Campbell) wrote that Oaxaca (pronounced Wah-ha-ka) loves Canadians.
Oaxaca is located on the Pacific side of southern Mexico and is the country’s most unspoiled bio-diverse region. Although it had only been a few years since Campbell had visited Hualtuco and Puerto Escondido in the state of Oaxaca, in her Issuu article she said that on this visit she was “…very surprised to see how many Canadians had suddenly discovered this place!”…adding that Canadians “were everywhere!”
Perhaps it’s because Sunwing and Air Transat now offer North Americans easy access with direct flights into Huatulco’s HUX Inernational airport. And, even though Huatulco is just over an hour from Pureto Escondido by car, you can still fly into the Puerto Escondido airport via Mexico City.
What didn’t surprise Campbell however, was how many “Canucks” could be found at Vivo Resorts Oaxacan Beachfront Living, a tropical resort complex on Palmarito beach just outside of Puerto Escondio Oaxaca. After all, Vivo Resorts was conceived and developed by Carey Mullen, an ex-Calgarian and ex-Olympic gold medalist turned Mexico oceanfront condo developer.
About Vivo Resorts
Vivo Resorts is just a short 15-minute shuttle bus ride from the surfing town of Puerto Escondio, population 45,000+ and according to Campbell’s Issuu article it is “One of the world’s top 20 surfing spots.”
Mullen’s concept, when he broke ground in 2010, was to create a tropical, oceanfront resort complex complete with over 600 luxury condo units and 114 private villa style homes. These would be complemented with a Clubhouse, tennis and pickleball courts, a retail shopping complex, and much more. Vivo Resorts is also ideally situated and fronted by the Pacific Ocean and over 12-miles of fine sandy beaches.
The Vivo Clubhouse opened in December of 2017. At present, Mullen has completed and sold over 100 luxury beachfront condos and more than a dozen villa-style private homes, mostly to Canadian and some American snowbirds. Mullen’s dream for this 75-acre, gated, beachfront community resort was to create a vacation destination that could be enjoyed by families of every generation.
Vivo also offers condo owners a well-managed condo rental program, which means that these Mexico oceanfront condos in Puerto Escondido Oaxaca can be booked through the Vivo Vacations website.
About Puerto Escondido Oaxaca
There are many things that make Puerto Escondido Mexico so unique. This emerging location is still a fishing and surfing town that offers visitors authentic Mexico. This must have been what Pureto Vallarta was like three decades ago. There are no large hotel resort developments and no throngs of tourists. Yet, with the Pacific Ocean on one side and the Sierra del Sur Mountain rannge on the other, you’ll find no shortage of things to do and activities to participate in. From surfing, boating, snorkeling, whale watching and Vivo’s own sea turtle rescue program, to beach horseback riding and guided land tours, Pureto Escondido is a vacation paradise.
