Cary Mullen – Developer & President of Vivo Resorts
Since 1968, Canadian Travel Press has been Canada’s most trusted travel trade publication. In the Latin America section of their October 15, 2018 issue, the Travel Press article by Ian Stalker highlights Cary Mullen, a former Olympian and World Champion downhill skier turned Mexico beachfront condo developer.
In the Travel Press article, Stalker writes that Mullen has “gone from life in winter’s extremely fast lane to hosting winter-weary refugees in a sun-soaked part of the world.”
Mullen’s Sports Career
During his 11-year national alpine ski team career, Cary Mullen competed at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, France, the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway, and on the World Cup Circuit. Mullen even set a world downhill ski speed record in Kitzbuhel Astria clocking 151 kmph.
Vivo Resorts Beachfront Condos
Cary Mullen is now a third-generation real estate developer and president of Vivo Resorts Oaxacan Beachfront Living near Puerto Escondido, located on the Emerald Coast of Oaxaca in southern Mexico.
At full build out, this $200-million gated, resort community, which is ideally situated on Palmarito Beach just 10 minutes by shuttle bus from Puerto Escondido, will feature 114 private villa style homes and over 600 luxury oceanfront condos!
Vivo also offers its residents a well managed Airbnb style condo rental program, which means that vacationers travelling to Mexico can also stay at Vivo through the Vivo Vacations website.
Why Puerto Escondido Mexico?
To find a dream location for his proposed tropical oceanfront condo complex, Cary Mullen traveled through 12 different countries. He was looking for a place that was untouched by tourist development and has pristine beaches, exceptional weather, and a warm tropical ocean that one could swim in throughout the year.
Mullen found his ideal location in Puerto Escondido, a little known surfing destination on the Emerald Coast of Oaxaca, MX.
Puerto Escondido is located on the Pacific side of southern Mexico where the warm tropical waters are warmer than in Hawaii or the Caribbean. According to Stalker’s Travel Press article, Mullen recognized Puerto Escondido as an emerging vacation destination. Puerto Escondido “has the best weather in all of North America” and is “free of the hustle and bustle that many better-known resort areas have,” states Mullen.
