Toronto Sun – Vivo Resorts, Escape to Puerto Escondido MX

“Amenities of a 5-Star resort, but the privacy of home!”

In her March 2018 Toronto Sun article, Escape to Paradise: Puerto Escondido Lovely and Laidback, Sarah Doktor wrote, “A lot of people dream about running away and living in paradise,” and Vivo Resorts in Puerto Escondido, Mexico, “certainly fits the bill.”

Vivo Resorts, a gated community of “luxury condominiums and private villas” is the “only development along Palmarito Beach for 19 km,” according to the Toronto Sun article. The location, in the state of Oaxaca in southern Mexico, is what attracted most Vivo condo owners, but they also confess it’s the “community and atmosphere” that keeps them here.

Vivo owners can live here year ‘round or enjoy their Vivo condo as a seasonal dwelling. Vivo Resorts even has a rental management division that offers owners a convenient way to earn rental income. That means that anyone who is not in the market to buy an oceanfront condo in Mexico can still experience Puerto Escondido through Vivo Vacations.

The many beaches around Puerto Escondido have been a surfer’s paradise for decades and this quaint Oaxaca town of under 50,000 still offers an authentic Mexican experience.

There’s always something to do in Puerto Escondido on the Emerald Coast of Mexico. You can take a guided boat tour, go bird watching, take surfing lessons, enjoy beach horseback riding, or take part in the sea turtle release program through the Vivo Foundation. During turtle nesting season, Vivo hosts several turtle release events a week that Vivo owners and vacationers can participate in.

Vivo Resort’s president and founder Cary Mullen (two time Canadian Olympian) states, “Part of my vision (for Vivo) was to embrace the idea of being a good neighbour.” That’s why Mullen created the Vivo Foundation, a non-profit society dedicated to being a respected and contributing neighbour to the Community and the Environment. The Foundation also helps fund youth sports and supports a local orphanage.

Vivo Resorts is just 15 minutes from Puerto Escondido, which is only about 60 miles (100km) from the Huatulco International Airport. You can also fly directly to Puerto Escondido airport from Mexico City.
