How reliable is the weather?
The Puerto Escondido area is quite an anomally. It does NOT rain here from November until April. With 0% precipitation during the winter months, the reliability of sunny days is tremendous. In the hot summer months, the locals and visitors welcome the nice warm rains that cool the temperature down and create our fantastic vegetation that we get to enjoy for the rest of the year. It is very rare to find an oceanfront destination that is NOT windy, Puerto only offers a gentle cooling ocean breeze. Not great news for windsurfers but for the rest of us, it's perfect.It is 80-85 degrees every day in the winter and 85-90 in the summer. What more can we say?
Is the ocean water warm in Puerto Escondido.

Is it safe in the area from crime?
Yes it is safe. Once you come here you will realize that the locals are very friendly and trustworthy. There is very little crime in this part of Mexico. What little crime Puerto Escondido experiences, we are insulated from as we’re located 9 miles from town. For your piece of mind and protection we will have 24 hour security and gated access to the resort property.
Do we need to worry about hurricanes?
Puerto Escondido is in a low hurricane risk zone. Cancun historically gets an average of one direct hurricane hit every 3 years, Puerto Escondido has had one hurricane in the last 157 years.Family Friendly?
Absolutely yes! VIVO Resorts is very much planned to provide an environment that is fun, engaging and safe for families with children. The best 2 airports to fly into are PXM - Puerto Escondido International Airport (15 minute drive from VIVO Resorts) or HUX - Huatulco International Airport (95km to VIVO Resorts). All flights to Puerto Escondido Airport are routed through Mexico City or Oaxaca City, Mexico. Huatulco has direct flights from:- Houston (Continental),

Can we swim right in front of VIVO Resorts?
Yes you can. The water is beautiful and warm but the ocean has great energy here and one must be careful when swimming. As a precaution for children and novice swimmers we recommend using a floatation device such as a boogie board or life jacket.Can we surf from the VIVO Resorts beach?
On some days the waves in front of VIVO are sufficiently to surf, however most often surfers will drive into Puerto Escondido to surf the waves at Zicatela Beach.
