“It’s in the 80’s 365 days a year! Awesome!”
Kate Michael wrote in her February 2018 Pursuitist article, Avoid The Snow with Two-Time Winter Olympian in Puerto Escondido, that “Olympian-turned-serial entrepreneur Cary Mullen…wasn’t just searching for the ideal place to create Vivo Resorts — with great weather and great real estate value — he was also looking for a new community to make his home.”
According to Michael, Mullen found his ideal place just over 60 miles (100km) West of Huatulco in Puerto Escondido, “on Oaxaca’s as-yet unspoiled Emerald Coast.”
Vivo Resorts is a luxury gated community located on a 12-mile stretch of pristine Pacific Coast beach that features luxury beachfront condos and private homes (villas) with exceptional ocean views. Although these oceanfront condos were designed primarily for ownership, Vivo Resorts also offers a fully managed rental program that allows owners to generate an income from their properties when they are not in Mexico.
Sun, sand, and exceptional year-round weather in a tropical paradise that historically has the lowest hurricane risk in all of the America’s (just 3 mild hurricanes in over 160 years); this is what attracted Mullen to this “little known surfing destination.”
According to Mullen, “The superstars here are the sea life.” At Vivo, the tradition is to, “blow the conch shell when dolphins and whales pass by the resort.” This area is also home to the nesting beaches of 4 out of the 7 species of sea turtles!
At Vivo, you can stay for “a few days or forever.” Either way, there’s nothing more special than to end a day in paradise with a baby sea turtle release at sunset.
